Pakistani patients usually have medium to brown skin. For these skin types the 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength is the most conservative choice because it is absorbed least by the melanin in the skin. 808–810 nm diode lasers are widely used on light to medium skin with appropriate settings and cooling, and 755 nm Alexandrite is very effective on finer hair but needs extra care on darker skin. Triple-wavelength diode lasers combine 755, 808 and 1064 nm in one handpiece.

Why the Wavelength Matters
Laser hair reduction works by heating the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle. Skin also contains melanin, and darker skin contains more. Shorter wavelengths such as 755 nm are absorbed strongly by melanin, which makes them efficient on hair but riskier on darker skin. Longer wavelengths such as 1064 nm penetrate deeper and are absorbed less by the skin, which is why Nd:YAG is the standard choice for darker skin types.
Cooling, Sessions and Safety

- Several sessions are needed, because hair grows in cycles. Published guidance commonly mentions around eight sessions, spaced three to eight weeks apart depending on the area.
